1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use ShortURL. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use ShortURL only for lawful purposes. You must not use the Service to shorten URLs that lead to:

Malware, spyware, ransomware, or other malicious software.
Phishing pages or fraudulent websites intended to steal credentials or personal information.
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or any content that exploits or harms minors.
Illegal content, including but not limited to pirated software, drugs, or weapons.
Spam, unsolicited advertising, or deceptive content.
Content that promotes violence, hatred, discrimination, or terrorism.
Violation of any applicable law or regulation.

3. Alias Policy

Custom aliases are subject to availability and our reserved-word policy. We reserve the right to reclaim or disable any alias at our sole discretion, including but not limited to aliases that:

Impersonate brands, companies, or individuals.
Contain offensive or inappropriate language.
Are reserved for system use (e.g., admin, api).
Are associated with prohibited content.

4. Rate Limiting

To prevent abuse, each IP address is limited to 20 link shortenings per hour. Automated use of the Service without prior written permission is prohibited.

5. No Warranty

ShortURL is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any given time. Short links may become unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, or link expiry.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShortURL shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or any short links. We are not responsible for the content of third-party websites that short links redirect to.

7. Link Removal

We reserve the right to remove any short link at any time, for any reason, including links that violate these Terms, are subject to a DMCA complaint, or are reported for abuse.

8. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of any URLs you submit. By submitting a URL, you grant ShortURL a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store and redirect that URL as part of providing the Service.

9. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction.
